Windows user profile in backup state

Former Member

Dear All,

I have several SAP instances on two servers - one running on Windows 2008 R2 and second on Windows 2008 Standard. Both 64bit. Sometimes one of windows users' profile is changing state to 'backup'. I found it when ERP on one system or Solman on Second didn't want to startup. Disp+work was crashing when trying to obtain password using SAPSRX db user.

After short investigation I found that when I go to 'Advanced system settings' and 'User profiles' then I saw:

HOSTNAME\sm1adm - Size: 5,49MB, Type: Local, Status: Backup

After changes in system registry profile went back into status 'Local' and disp+work works again.

Why sometimes user profiles change status to backup????

thanks in advance

Hi Pawel,

I am having exactly the same problem on several systems.

You have marked this question as answered. I have read all answers but I can't find anything that helped me to solve the problem.

Note 556232 does only describe how the environment variables should be set, but I can't see what the solution is.

Could you please help tell me the solution you have found?

Regards,

Niklas

Do you use a 3rd party backup software that may put those into that state?

No. It's fresh windows installation without any additional soft.

Hi, yes I know it is. I've already replaced it, but the question is - why profiles become 'backuped' ?
