Hi,
We are doing our support pack upgrade to SP 17 from SP 11
Post our upgrade the in the default settings of the item, the
purchasing group field is blank. Though Product category and
Organisational responsibility manitained are correct.
Still the Purchasing group field is blank.
However if the user has SAP_ALL access, the purchasing group is
displayed.
Request you to provide pointers for resolving it.

i had this issue but could not recollect immediately .
hope you get some error message . what is that error message.
there was some code correction in sap note causes this issue.

my issue could be different.
when you order free text are you geting any error?
could you see any purchase group before you assgin a vendor in the sc.
since purchase groups are determined before you assign a vendor w.r.t product category responsibility in the purchase group

Note 1475546 - Organization data is not filled properly
Symptom
Purchasing organization data in shopping cart is not filled properly. Because this user will get error message "Vendor XYZ is not intended for purchasing organization" (BBP_PD 018) followed by information message "First maintain the purchasing data for the vendor" (BBP_BUPA 081).
