Hi,

I have a issue with jobs in DBA Planning.

In all task i get the error

Doesn't seem to be a problem with SAPXPG, I think your gateway is not populated properly in your RFC SAPXPG_DBDEST_PBMDEAQBDS01.

Can you double check that.

Hi William,

Does the RFC connection work fine for this? That should be the first point of checking. Also check the work process trace for the same. Please post if you see any error in that as well.

I explain in detail my issue.

I have a Database Server for two Aplication server QA, one is BI and other is ERP.

Three servers:

BI QAS:

ERP QAS:

Database Server: PBMDEAQBDS01

The RFC in ERP work fine, in BI don't work, and both is set equal.

In RFC the gateway is default in both systems. My question is, why RFC work in ERP and don't work in BI?

As the error is a timeout it could be anything from problems in the host/services file to network/firewall issues.

Read and do the checks in SAP Note 581509 - Reasons for "timeout during allocate"

So is this a MCOD?

I hope if the BI system is able to connect to the database on that host it may not be a host connectivity or network.

Kindly go to SMGW on BI system check on logged on clients in errored status.

Delete them and then restart gateway on BI once.

Try connection test then.

yes, I have standalone gateway.

I try set background server but the customer don't accept that jobs be executed in DB server.

Hi William,

I assume that you are sure about "SAPXPG_DBDEST_PBMDEAQBDS01" configuration on SM59.

You can dedicate DB13 jobs to the database server by the "DB13 --> Go to --> Backend Configuration --> Background Server" path. By doing so, all the DB13 jobs will be executed on the database server, but the other background jobs will not be affected from this configuration.
