Problems Backup MaxDB 7.8 on SLES 11 with Networker

Hello together,

we have problems to backup a MaxDB 7.8.01.17 on SLES 11 with the Networker. The backup is started normal and ends also normal from MaxDB view. But then the Networker checks its outputfiles and finds no completion messages for the pipes. So it sends an ERR_BACKUPOP back to the Database.

The following lines are written in the external backup logfile:

Analyzing output of NetWorker.

Have found a savetime message in the NetWorker output file '/var/tmp/temp1303363722-1' in line:

completed savetime=1303363855

Could not find a completion message for pipe '/nsr/pipe/pipe1_DB_D01' with a backup size in the NetWorker output '/var/tmp/temp1303363722-0' and '/var/tmp/temp1303363722-1'.

Have found a savetime message in the NetWorker output file '/var/tmp/temp1303363722-3' in line:

completed savetime=1303363856

Could not find a completion message for pipe '/nsr/pipe/pipe2_DB_D01' with a backup size in the NetWorker output '/var/tmp/temp1303363722-2' and '/var/tmp/temp1303363722-3'.

The completion messages for 2 pipes are missing in NetWorker output (see above).

Errors found in NetWorker's output.

Have encountered error -24920:

The backup tool failed with 0 as sum of exit codes.

Constructed the following reply:

ERR

-24920,ERR_BACKUPOP: backup operation was unsuccessful

The backup tool failed with 0 as sum of exit codes.

Reply buffer filled.

Because of the return code the Networker sends to the DB, also the DB says the backup was'nt sucessfull. Does anybody know about this error or can tell me who has to write the completion messages for the pipes? Could it be that the Networker Client for SLES 11 is the problem here?

We use SLES 11 SP1 with MaxDB 7.8.01.20 and Legato Client 7.6SP1 - and the backups are working.

Our environment is define as:

You should check the dbm.ebl and dbm.ebp files for error causes.
