SAP JCO connection to Mulesoft

I am quite new to SAP, so I have done some search but could not find the right way. so i am posting here to get more information.

I am trying to connect to Mulesoft from SAP using JCO connection.

I am not sure how to go about it. I want to understand how to setup

1. JCO connection enabled in SAP any prerequisites

2 Create BAPI in SAP

3. Send BAPI/IDOC via JCO.

4. Recieve BAPI/IDOC requeust from Mule via JCO.

What are the steps I need to follow to make the above work.

I am using ECC 6.0 , I want to download production orders/ Equipments from SAP.

I have not figured out exactly how to expose BAPIS.
