FM Consistency Check

Hi,

We are trying to budget check documents in FMBB to avoid negative budget for transfers and Carryovers. We have used SAP Note 983853 Missing errors from availability control for negative budget. We have the consistency check set up correctly. We are getting the error message when the budget will go negative.

We are noticing that the consistency check does check on the budget address, at each commitment item level. We have the AVC to check at the Superior Commitment Item Level (hierarchy assignment). We are wanting to do the consistency check at the Superior Commitment Item level to keep it consistant with the way we budget check. Also we do have situations where the budget is sitting on one commitment item and the actuals with hit another commitment item. This could be an issue to where the commitment item will not go negative but the Superior Commitment Item level will become negatvie. Is there a way to add the superior commitment item level to the consistency check in the check section, not the prerequisite section? We are also open to different solutions other than the consistency check.

This example is going to be for Process Carryover:

Contractual Services: Budget $80.00 Actuals $0 Available $80.00

Supplies: Budget $20.00 Actuals $50.00 Available $(30.00)

Total Fund Center Budget $100.00 Actuals $50.00 Available $50.00

Fund Center should carryover only $50.00 (Total Fund Center Budget) to the next fiscal year. But in this example the Fund Center and Contractual Service Commitment Item with the consistency check will be able to carryover $80.00 to the next fiscal year.

This example is going to be for Process Transfer:

Contractual Services: Budget $80.00 Actuals $0 Available $80.00

Supplies: Budget $20.00 Actuals $50.00 Available $(30.00)

Total Fund Center 1 Budget $100.00 Actuals $50.00 Available $50.00

Fund Center 1 should be allowed to transfer over to Fund Center 2 $50.00. But with the consistency check only looking at the commitment item level the Fund Center 1 can transfer over $80.00. Please see below for the amounts after the incorrect transfer.

Contractual Services: Budget $0 Available $0

Supplies Budget $20 Actuals $50 Available $(30)

Total Fund Center 1 Budget $20 Actuals $50 Available $(30)
