Config guide to Job schedule management

Hi All

can any of you point me to a good config guide for Job Schedule Management - I am struggling with the integration into Service Desk.

If I make the changes per the IMG documentation (change Action profile on SLFN to SLFN0001_JR), I only have Job Request actions available.

When the support message was not created from a Job Request I want to have all actions available (as per SLFN0001_ADVANCED).

I have had a look through SDN and Help but can't find anything useful so far. Any pointers very welcome.

Cheers

Marina

Hello Marina

Paul

thanks for the links - I had already used these resources, the most useful of which was

https://websmp110.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000332872009E/index.htm

What I really need to know is;

Can Job Management co-exist with Service Desk? Because they seem to be mutually exclusive based on the configuration information I have read. It seems that the action profile for action type SFLN should be either SLFN0001_ADVANCED if I want to use service desk OR SLFN0001_JR if I want to use Job Management, but clearly cannot be both.

is the answer that I add the Action Definitions of SLFN0001_JR to SLFN0001_ADVANCED to use both?? I cannot identify a missing configuration step that would allow me to choose between the two action profiles dynamically depending on scenario.

Hello Marina,

please have a look into SAP note 1225906 - "Customizing of the Job Request for Job Management". For SolMan 7.0 it is actually recommended to use transaction type SLFJ for job requests in order to keep it separate from normal SLFNs. They can both be used in parallel.

In SolMan 7.1 a new transaction type is used for Service Desk and ChaRM and Job Management re-uses it and is just one of many assignment blocks within the respective transaction types.

For 7.0 and 7.1 documentation you should also refer to http://service.sap.com/rkt-solman and look for the Job Scheduling Management section.

Hi Volker

Thanks for the helpful answer - I think I was getting confused because the option to attach job documenation was not available with the SLFJ. But it seems tha this is automatically attached - therefore no requirement for the action item.

thanks again - I think i have moved one step forward on my job management configuration journey.

regards

Marina
