log is full

I have installed SAP NW04 sneak preview on my system. Portal was working fine till yesterday. Now SAPMMC doesn't come to green. server0 still says "starting apps" (almost 3:00 hrs).

I heard that this problem raises when log is 100%. How back this log and create a new media.

Help needed...thankyou.

Hello Neha,

Please review the SAP note 869267.

To 'clear' the log, you have to create the log backup.

In order to do this, you need to:

1. define backup medium for:

a) complete data backup

b) log backup

2. create a complete data backup, using the defined medium

in step 1a.

3. create log backup, using the medium defined in step 1b.

The above steps can be done using either the Database Manager GUI tool

( DBMGUI ) or dbmcli (command line interface).

I recommend you to create the complete data backup & set autolog on to avoid the LOG_FULL problem.
