Hi,
We are in the initial stages of a project.
The BASIS people provided by customer is new to Portal related activities(Wed dynpro Java) ,NWDI, SLD.
He has installed SAP EP Core components and NWDI.
UsageTypesInfo returns the following result :
NetWeaver AS AS Java Application Server Java
NetWeaver DI DI Development Infrastructure
NetWeaver EPC EP Core Enterprise Portal Core Components
My query is :
where to find NWDI location ?
He claims that local SLD is configured. But based on requirement, WDJ needs to connect to R/3. Is connection to central SLD required? how to configure SLD with NWDI? why is it required?
what kind of other configuration required?
Kindly help
Thanks

Hello,
It depends whether you want to go with Central SLD or just with local SLD, if you have Central SLd server then you have configure this system with that as AS Java option and specify some of the core components while adding that system.
Logon to SLD server as administrator and goto Technical systems -> click New technical system -> select WebAS Java -> specify all info -> add instance and new server node and other required info and save. then logon at OS level and goto Visual admin and perform necessary steps like providing SLDUSER info and his rightsand etc.
Thanks
