Can't link Project Phases with Item Decision Points (PPM 5.0)

Dear gurus;

I can't link Project Phase with Item Decision Point in PPM 5.0

Let me explain:

I configured all DFM and synchronization. I think all fine.

In Project Definition (Project Management) link with the Portfolio Item (in tab "Portfolio Data"), but when I try to "Assign Subobjects" (Phase with Decision Point) I can't do it, because the system throw me the message "The search provided no results; choose other search criteria".

Hi Mariano,

I generally do the mapping in the configuration where I assign a project phase to item decision point and let the user change this if needed. Under Portfolio Management > Global Customizing > Portfolio Independent Settings check the option "Map Item Type to Project or PS". Here you can map the item type to project templates and DP to phase.

In your case is the item to project mapping working and you are only not able to map phase --> DP or is the item to project assignment also not possible?

In this case the link with the Item and project works fine, but not able to map Phase --> DP.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Gurus;

I found two Notes to apply:

• Note 1558882 - Phase search displays Duplicate and Unknown Phase ID

• Note 1551725 - Phase Search for Manual Assignment of Subobjects fails

This Notes represents the error founded when I try to map Phases to Decision Points.

Are important to know, because once you can make a mistake and again another.

I will apply these notes, and then tell you what happened.

Hi All;

I applied the notes, but these notes didn't resolved the problem.

I send a message to SAP, to ask if they know of another solution to fix the Project Phase to Portfolio Item Decision Point.

Hi Mariano,

we are facing the same problem, we are not being able to link item Decision Point and cProjects phase though we have configured the mapping as explained in guide ConfigContPPM50V2.

We would appreciate if you could confirm us if you finally managed to solve this issue and how.

Hi all;

Finally, we apply the note 1596981, that fix the problem.

This version of PPM 5.0 with the support package SAPK-50005INCPRXRPM.

We have the same Suport Package installed so I think that this will be really helpful. We will then implement that note to try to fix the issue.
