Maintain own development Z

Hi people,

I want to do a client copy from PRD to DEV, but I´m not sure how to mantain the Z developments (all versions of each z).

Hello Ruben,

I hope you want to retain the custom developments which are not moved to production if I am right.

You can export them and reimport them again as transport requests.

As far as my knowledge is concerned it is not recommended to do the client copy from from PRD TO DEV ,had it been done from PRD TO SANDBOX it would have make sense simply because you have mentioned regarding your z table developments should not be effected so try to do it on sandbox rather than on DEV server.

Hi Ruben,

We have done that copy only when we were performed a major upgrade say from 4.70 to 6.10 or to ECC, but after completing all the exisiting development is done, or else as said you can create transports after your development is dome and release those transports and note down thier numbers, once you complete the copy from PRD to DEV then re-import all those transports back into DEV client system.
