Red:Class field is in display mode while assigning to an equipment

hi experts,

I have defined characterstics and assigned those characterstics to one class. Now while assigning this class to an equipment which was already created using IE02, class field is not active ie) in display mode, and message giving is

*No assignments for Class type 002"

Could u pls suggest the solution.

Have the class created with type 002 ,

Also while assigning the class first time system will issue the message as you said. however you can select the class from the drill down .kindly check
