HI All

For testing purpose I am going to install SAP ECC6.0 on MaxDB 7.8 in X32

windows server 2003 OS platform. I have installed Database (MaxDB), now I am

installing

SAP, in this period SAP is asking "MaxDB RDBMS" DVD. And I have tried with

DVD "51038550_9". this is for 32 bit. But while I giving path of this DVD it

is asking for following

*need the label MAXDB:7.8xxx:RDBMS:MAX DB:WINDOWS_I386:I386:CD510xxxxx

Please help for this.

Thanks

YR

There are two things here:

SAP doesn't support 32bit installation any more:

1560346 - SAP installation on 32 bit Windows no longer supported

and according to

Note 1469675 - MaxDB 7.8: Installation/System Copy based on SAP Kernel 7.0*

you have to install using 7.7.

Hi,

The problem may be solved by renaming label from

MAXDB:750xx:RDBMS:MAX DB:CD51030928

to

MAXDB::RDMS:MAX DB::I386

Thank you.

Wrong. Please read the installation guide. You don't install database software before, sapinst will do that.

Remove the database software and start over.

Don't expect any 'performance' with a 32bit operating system.

HI Markus

First thanks for your response, See Markus like SAP installation with MSSQL first we install DB. then SAP.

Like that i am thinking. So means here we need to install Sapinst first, but i want to tell you i am stuck at where SAP inst is asking for MaxDB RDBMS DVD.

Thanks
