Hi,
We want to install SAP instances (ECC6(DEV,QTY and PROD),Ides & Solution Manager,Portal deveopment and production servers) on windows with sql environment.at present client is alloated below hardware for 4 servers.

HS22, Xeon 4C X5570 95W 2.93GHz/1333MHz/8MB L2, 2x2GB, O/Bay 2.5in SAS 2
IBM 146 GB 2.5in SFF Slim-HS 15K 6Gbps SAS HDD 2
we have allocated 1.6 TB from the SAN storage to these servers.
before that installed sap on stand alone servers successfully,first time iam working on SAN scnerio,here how it will connect with SAN to above hardware iam in confusion,please guid me how i have to proceed.

This needs to be taken care by your storage / data center team.
Once LUNs/ Disks are assigned, you will be able to use them as in the case of local disks.

Please talk to your Administration Team. They will connect SAN with your hardware and will define the usuable space for Your hardware. You will be able to see the Space on that hardware as you can see on a local machine.

Hello Harshit,
When you attach SAN to server host they are shown as disk volumes.
Then its shown more like standard server having disk attached to it. SAN gives flexibility of allocating disk volume dynamically.
