I have installed WAS 6.40 SR1 & want to upgrade to SPS 16. Before applying support pack do i need to apply latest kernel ?

Is there any side effects for applying latest kernel patch ?

Kindly help me

Hi,

You should always update your kernel before applying SP, because it's better to use the last version of tp or R3trans for example.

Sometimes you need to update your SPAM/SAINT between the kernel update and the SP.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for the response. so the order is

1)Kernel update

2)SPAM update

3)Applying SP-stack

After the NW04 SR1 installation, what is the correct path to SPS 16 upgrade ? If there is any document/url pls mail to me at ramkichennai@gmail.com

Hi,

You are correct that you should patch the kernel first and then apply the SP-Stacks.
