UDS connectivity problem with citect historian

Hi,

We are having MII,Historian and Schneider MES in our landscape.

Both MII and MES are connect to Citect Historian 4.2. And I'm using UDS 4.0 to connect to that historian.

I'm getting problem in connecting to historian via UDS.

When MES is connected to Historian,UDS will not run. And when UDS is running MES will not able to connect Historian.

When I checked the log file,both UDS and MES are throwing the same error.

Error is:

Unspecified Error: 080004005

Plz help in resolving this issue.

Suresh,

It could be a case of conflicting ports. I have no idea how the MES connects to Historian but if there's a way to verify the port number, that might give you some idea.

Did you try to check with any Citect experts?

Thanks for reply.

It's not a port issue.The issue could be sometthing else.

MES connecteing thru TCP/IP Standard Port 135.

I'm also in touch with Citect guys.

It sounds more like a licensing issue, perhaps a restriction of the Citect API only permitting a single connection to the server.

Hi,

Diana: Thanks for providing the link,but I can't able to make it by going through that.It could be usefull for database guy.

Jeremy: Historian is running on licence. And apart from that historian connected to their own many Citect SCADAs along with MES. I don't think that it's only allowing single connection.

If not a licensing issue, as Jeremy indicated, which OLEDB provider are you using when configuring the UDS?
