I currently have SAP GUI 710 installed as does everyone else in my team however all my screens have always looked like it was an old gui that was installed (even the Options icon in the standard toolbar was the old 3 overlapping circles u2013 red, blue & green u2013 instead of the bar chart looking version). The details of my system suggest I have the correct GUI installed and is the same as my colleagues, nevertheless we tried re-installing the current GUI again but it didnu2019t make a difference. Is there any reason why my screen would look different (somehow changed some settings)?
Note: This has been the case for a couple of years now and despite others having a look and scratching their heads, nothing has been resolved
Please note that new installations will automatically come with Signature Design and in case of an upgrade it depends on whether the user has a personal setting under HKEY_CURRENT_USER or not. SAP will not overwrite user specific settings, but SAP will remove everything under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
You may also set default themes during installation. Please use note 1035560 for this.
If you want to enforce a theme then use the registry keys below
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\SAP\General\Appearance\Themes
StringValue named SystemDefault i.e Enjoy. Please note that Enjoy is with capital "E".
The script that is required can be found in the attached "Installation Server Help" in chapter below:
-> "Administering an Installation Server" -> "Maintaining Installation
Packages" -> Configuring Packages and Scripting Events" -> "Package
Event Scripting Samples" -> "How to set a registry value?"
Also note:
To set the default theme for all users of a system please set the
parameter "sapgui/theme" to Enjoy in instance profile in transaction
RZ10 as detailed in note 610274. With this global theme set, this can be
changed on the users side individually as per user desire.
Many thanks

Hello Ankit,
7.10 is no longer in support, see note
http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/147519
For Signature Design in 7.10 patch 11 was needed.
However, all users should now be using 7.30 GUI
Best Regards,
Jude
Hello Ankit,
I can send you the patch, but there is no support for this version,so should things go wrong,we cannot fix it except by using the latest 7.30 gui.
I don't recommend patch 11 at all since there was a severe memory leak in this version.
I can send you both patch 11 and the last patch 22 for 7.10
regards,
Jude
hello kellis2198,
in 7.10 you can choose between different types of design: Sap Signature, Enjoy and Classic. It sounds like you are running your GUI in classic design.
Try to change it via SAP-Configuration in Windows Control Panel
Cheers
Alexander

I have never seen this with the 7.10 version, but recently after a roll out of the 7.20 patch 4 version, it reads 7.20 in the logon pad but the layout mimics that of the the 7.10. Typically for these cases we run an uninstall, use a registry clean utility rto remove all references to SAP GUI which are there, delete the C:\Program Files\SAP folder and re-install manually. That has always resolved our issue.
I would be interested in what other may have experienced with this or the root cause.
Regards,
Zecher
