I am processing T-code QA32,

After choosing inspection lot and click button of results,system show error msg : Characteristic results cannot be recorded for inspection lot XXXXXXXX

In QM view inspection type of this material check "inspection with task list " is ticked .Means you need to Inspection task list .

Create a task list & attach in QA02 then check

Now check whether you have ticked "Check char " in QM view .It has to be ticked.

Is inspection plan assiged to the inspection lot ? Please check the assignment in QA02 .
