JDBC Adapter connection over VPN tunnel

Hi All. Does anyone know if its possible for the XI JDBC adapter to connect to a remote SQL Database over VPN tunnel?

I think your question is whether it is possible to access database via VPN (Virtual Private Network) Yes it is possible. Are you running locally PI server and want to connect remote database via VPN? yes that is also possible.

Hi. We are in the process of out-sourcing the infrastructure of one of our applications to a external 3rd party. The application runs on an SQL database which is currently within our own network, and interfaces with XI using the JDBC adapter. The question is, if this SQL application goes out to an external party, and we have a VPN tunnel / connection inbetween our network and the external party, can we continue to use the JDBC XI adapter as we do now.

Yes, As long the third party allow the user ID to access the database

Yes it is very much possible. No issues.
