How uninstall completely SAPGUI 7.20 ? Problem with dll and VBA

Former Member

Hi,

Yesterday, we have deployed SAPGUI 7.20 in production.

We have several problems with Visual Basic on products like AUTOCAD, ESSBASE.

It is about some dll.

We must uninstall immediately SAPGUI 7.20 completely.

When we only uninstall SAPGUI, the Registry is not cleaned.

Have you some ideas on how uninstall completely SAPGUI 7.20 ?

How can we manage this problem with dll ?

Thanks.

Best Regards,

Ludovic

Please follow the steps below to uninstall GUI completely and have a clean PC. We do not have a tool such SAPSweep anymore.

1)Deinstall the sapgui with following command line in START -> RUN

nwsapsetup /uninstall /all

*you need administrative user rights

Please kindly clear your recycle bin.

2) if the folded below exists, please delete the folder

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Sap Shared

3) delete all other folders where the sapgui was installed

c:\program files\sap\Frontend

C:\Program Files\SAP\Business Explorer

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\SAP Front En

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Business

Explorer

4) delete then all "SAP" entries in the windows registry in

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDLLs

( Please ONLY the SAP entries )

Now you have a "clean" Workstation.

Hello Ludovic

please note that the command line

nwsapsetup.exe /uninstall /all

will does not work correct.

/all only will work correctly with the parameter /silent or /nodlg.

You can read this in the SAP Frontend Installation Guide, which is available in the DOCU folder of the

Sapgui for windows source CD.

Hi,

thanks for your answers but it didn't run.

In order to fix this problem (VBA with SAPGUI 7.20), we put patch 6 on our systems and it is OK

"C:\Program Files\SAP\SapSetup\setup\NwSapSetup.exe" /Silent /Uninstall /product=""ECL710+BW350+KW710+GUI710ISHMED+GUI710TWEAK+JNet+SAPGUI710"" /TitleComponent :""SAPGUI710"" /IgnoreMissingProducts

You could try from the run menu.

nwsapsetup /uninstall /all /nodlg.

What was the result from just uninstalling from add-remove programs?

This should work ~99% of the time.

OR:

Run nwsapsetup again, and uncheck all the options, and follow the dialog boxes.

When ever I run into a problem with a uninstall which leaves behind items in the registry, I typically run a program called CCleaner. It was free some time ago online. (ccsetup300.exe) Not sure anymore but you should be able to find it.

It will scan the registry and find broken links and such. Even backs up the registry 1st iof you want. It displays them in a nice layout. You can then select everything or just the items you want. Its easier then searching the registry blindly. Perhaps someone else on here can say different but there used to be an application called SAP Sweep that I have read on here about, but I never used it.
