HTTP 403 Forbidden in SM59 for a RFC type H

Hi Experts,

I have created a RFC destination on SM59 in PI type H pointing to my ECC box. This is for inbound abap proxies scenarios.

When I run a connection test in SM59 I got 403 - Forbidden.

These are the config parameters in my RFC dest.:

TAB Tech Settings

target host (ip of ECC box)

Service Nro.: 80<ECC system number>

path prefix: /sap/xi/engine?type=entry

The user configured on this RFC has profiles SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW and role SAP_XI_APPL_SERV_USER on ECC.

I found similar threads but related to webdynpros.. and lack of activating services at SICF but nothing related to testing an RFC (type H) on SM59.

Thanks in advance,

Daniela

Hi Maciej,

Service /sap/xi/engine was not activated on SICF in ECC side.

After activate it, connection test returned 500.

Thanks,

Daniela

Hi

It's 500 because you send empty message, but in this case 500 means that it is correct

Kind Regards

Maciej

I don't see the need to create RFC destination on PI side.

Below link provide the details need to be configured for Proxy communications.

Hi Daniela,

In order to solve this issue ensure you have maintained the correct password, which MUST be the same, for all the service users on XI. You may check all the places it should be maintained, such as Exchange Profile, SU01, SLDAPICUST, etc..

Please kindly check the note below:

#999962 - PI 7.10: Change passwords of PI service users

Also ensure that the user has the correct role as per link below:
