Code Page Error

Hi,

We have a requirement in which the data is transferred from an interface (code page 437) to Application server of ECC system (Unicode). After the tranfer the file contains # characters for all the special characters in the file and which results in the dump when reading the data. Can you please provide any inputs on how to avoid the same .

Please Note : We do not want to ignore the characters .

Please help me out in resolving the same.

I would recommend to use

OPEN DATASET dsn IN LEGACY TEXT MODE CODE PAGE 1107

That pretty much depend on the code you are using to upload the data.

You need to find the Open dataset X text mode X that suits your requirement but this barely basis territory.

Can you explain your scenario in detail?
