alert inbox empty

Hi all,

When i check the alert inbox.Its empty.Any possible reason even though i can see the alert in RZ20.Thanks.

Hi Ambarish,

Please try to execute the program RSALERTTEST, and see whether you are getting any message in your alert Inbox.

See the SAP note for this: 913858 .

Hi Rajesh,

Thnaks for the info.I had run the program for one of the alert id and we can see the message in alert inbox.I dont know why alert doesnt get generated when a interface fails and ccms records it.Thanks.

Hi Ambrish,

When the interface fails, check the report SXMSALERT_LOGREADER in se38; it will help you to find out why the alerts are not getting generated.

it looks like the rule in PI is not active or wronglly configured

Hi,

The alert category needs to be imported again; you can delete the alert rule and create again with newly imported alert category.

After deleting the alert how should generate a sample alert since the aerlier ones were generated by the functional guys and they were assigned to a different alert category.

Hi,

Create a new alert rule wherein use the alert category you have already defined and simulate the error scenario.

Hi Supriya,

Tried all the possibilities.

The problem here is that when we are getting the alert in CCMS but cannot see the same in alert inbox.When we test using the program RSALERTTEST we are getting the mail and alert but whenever there is a system triggered error we cannot see the alert in the alert inbox.Again getting the same error.Anny pointers would be appreciated.Thanks.

The above error will be come because you might be wrongly created alert category.

click on alert category(under alrtcatdef) -> click on display/change -> Delete alert category.

Hello ,

Even we are facing the same issue.

I am able to receive the alerts for any error in adaper engine.

But for Integration engine we are facing the simillar issue.

Error:Function Module SALRT_CREATE_API raised:alert_category_unknown<RuleName: ><AlertCategoryL RWB_ALERTS>

Any pointers to this will be appriciated.

Please check RFC destination CentralMonitoringServer-XIAlerts.It would be having client 001 and change it your one and check and confirm.Thanks.

Try add your PI Dialogue User ID as the fixed receipient for that particular Alert Category/Alert Class in transaction ALRTCATDEF in PI system. This will direct the alert messages (long text) to your alert inbox in RWB.

Hope your query was about PI alerts only.

Did you check if your user is added as the fixed receipient of the alert category/class in ALRTCATDEF?
