oracle connection

Hi Guys,

can you please help me to create a connection to oracle server by using Oracle client or JDBC Drivers

what do I need to configure in my local machine do i need to edit any host file like SQL.inf file in SYBASE

what should I do in my local machine to create a connection in universe

1) Install the Oracle client on your local machine (Use the "administrator" or "runtime" installaiton type and NOT the oracle instant client).

2) Setup the tnsnames.ora with the information required to connect to your Oracle server.

Please make sure to install and setup the oralce client also on the BO server if you want to export the reports you create into the BO repository.
