question about SWC

Former Member

Is the smallest deployable unit of the XI object is SWC version? Can we deploy individual objects inside SWC version?

If any one has any design documents about how to design SWC components for the development, Please send them to

aashburn06@yahoo.com.

Thanks,

Angela

Michal/Kiruthika,

Did you guys read my complete question? What is your thoughts about dividing SWC versions according to that?

And Thanks Kiruthiks for sending the documents.

hi Angela,

you doubt?

I answerd your question indirectly by pointing

to the weblog which shows a few solutions on the design

>>>>I want to have all my adapter connections in one SWC versiom

there are no adapter connections in IR (repository)

>>>>and all my external defintions in one SWC version,

please have a look at the weblog I gave you

you can put all of them in SWC for one system (approach 4)

try checking the weblog once more to understand

Regards,

michal

Hi Angela,

SWCV is a unit of software delivery, which contains all the individual objects starting from a data type to an interface mapping.

As you know, Xi architecture has two important components Integration Repository(Design) & Integration Directory ( Configuration). The SWCV information is used in Design ie., Integration Repository.

Note:I've sent related docs to your ID.

Micheal,

Deployable unit, is the one which we can export and import into other environments. So, can we export individual objects like message mappings, interface mappings or external defintions individually from SWC version?

Also, whats the best way to design SWC version?

I want to have all my adapter connections in one SWC version, and all my external defintions in one SWC version, etc etc. Does that sound logical?

>>>Also, whats the best way to design SWC version?

Hi,

take a look at this blog on how you can organize your SWCV.

hi,

>>>>Can we deploy individual objects inside SWC version?

what do you mean deploy in SWC version ?

you can create your own objects there

and you can also export/import objects from SWC version

can you post a little more precise question ?
