Dear,
I have 3 ranges which will decide Q1(Grade1) or Q2(Grade2) or Rejection
For example:
Material:1
Thickness for Q1 will be 10mm to 13 mm
and Q2 thickness will be 13mm to 15mm.
and finaly rejection if not ok for above value.
can you please help me how to map this scenario in SAP.
Thanks,
Shrithar
HI,
Create characteristics in your inspection plan to record your grades
Do the results recording
then in QA10/QA11 program , with user exit write a code to grade and store in the batch characteristics thru MSC2N.

You can use the functionality of Multiple Specifications which is applicable from ECC 6 onwards

In QS51 make the selected set as Q1 ,Q2 & QR
assign quality score.
depending upon the results recording you can manually take UD.
Also you can have
1.Q1 as a quantitative char similarly Q2
1.qualitative char as Rejection "Yes / No"

As I said create MIC like
1.Q1 as a quantitative char similarly Q2
1.qualitative char as Rejection "Yes / No"
Now you have three char.
There is concept of dependent char ..........means
suppose 1st MIC is do not have value in between Thickness:12 to 15 ( means first char is rejected )
then system should inspect 2nd MIC thickness is 16 to 18.
If 1st MIC is accepted then you need not to inspect second one as second one is depended MIC.(explore the control indicator of second MIC)
& 3rd one will be qualitative always will be inspected............
I hope this will add some value !!
Hi Shrithar,
You may explore classed recording if you want to analyze how many samples fall under range of 13-15 mm and 10 -13 mm.
1. As per your comments we can derive permissible tolerance limits as 10mm to 15mm.
2. Create only one MIC as per above limits with classed recording as control indicator.
3. You can choose your own number of classes, Class width and class midpoint. (Letu2019s take these figures as 5, 1 and 12.5 respectively)
4. When the lot is created, you will be prompted to put your results as per the classes. There you put how many samples you observed between 10-13mm and likewise for next interval.
5. Give UD as Q1 if maximum samples fall under 10-13mm. Likewise Q2. (Your UD codes should be Q1, Q2 and Reject)
What Sujit has suggested is also a better way to map this.
1. You create LENGTH as qualitative parameter.
2. Assign selected set to this MIC which contains 3 codes as Q1 (10-13mm), Q2 (13-15mm) and Reject with valuations A,A and R respectively.
3. Give UD.

Just a thought, check whether it suits ur requirement..
1. created selected set for catalog type 1with following code
GRADE A Grade A A Accepted (OK)
GRADE B Grade B A Accepted (OK)
GRADE R Rejected R Rejected (not OK)
2. create 1qualitative mic. tick charac. attribute, single result , and others are per ur reuirement.
3. then click on catalog. enter code group as 'grade'
4.attach this mic in inspection plan
5. create inspection lot, in result recording add code group as per ur observation and u can enter actual values in inspection description.save
