SAP Basis,

There are three approaches for SAP to integrate with Documentum. You may need one or two approaches to integrate SAP with Documentum depending on your integration scenario.

1) ASSAP (Archive Services for SAP)/CSSAP (Content Services for SAP)

2) DFC/JCo (Documentum Foundation Class/SAP Java Connector)

3) DFS (Documentum Foundation Services - Documentum Web Services)

ASSAP is Documentum's HTTP server specifically designed for SAP ArchiveLink. For SAP structured/unstructured data archiving, you may only need ASSAP. If you want to link existing objects in Documentum repository to SAP records, you may need both ASSAP and CSSAP. In this case, the CSSAP is for linking and ASSAP is for document retrieving. Of course, you may also use DFS to achieve your SAP/Documentum integration.

Hope above points may be helpful to your project.

Hi Brain,

Thanks for your response

As of now I have performed below activities ,is their anything need to install from document um side ,Please advise

1)Internet Information Server (IIS) installed

2) SAP content server 6.5 installed

3)Post Installation -Testing the Connection to the Content Server

4)oac0—Defining a logical Archive ID

5) CSADMIN

Above all working fine all connection test successful for content repository .My requirement is

EMC® Documentum® Content Services for SAP

Please advise is anything needs to be installed form document um side or any other config is required .

Documentum ASSAP (Archive Services for SAP) cannot work with SAP Content Server. It can only work with Documentum Content Server.

You need to install the following Documentum software:

  1. Documentum Content Server
  2. Documentum Administrator
  3. Documentum ASSAP

Depending on what you want to do, you may also need to install CSSAP (Documentum Content Services for SAP), for example, SAP unstructured data archiving.

You need to go through the ASSAP configuration Guide in order to configure SAP ArchiveLink and ASSAP.

...approach for Connecting Documentum(EMC product) with SAP ECC.

Honestly, the question is very vague.Could you spell out your requirements more clearly? What is it in ECC that you wish to establish connection with using Documentum? Is it Enterprise Portal,DMS,Archivelink,CRM et-al.

The options and approach for integrating with each of these solutions is unique. For example there are specific content services extended forward by Documentum for Enterprise Portal i-views/SAP CRM.Would strongly suggest you onboard a specialist who is familiar with these integration scenarios.

Agreed. Its a bit like asking for a step by step guide of how to configure SAP. This is not a learning forum and I suggest you read the forum rules. Its here to resolve problems, not replace entire training or training courses.

I suggest you engage the services of an experience consultant in this case.

Hi Pradeep,

My query is how do we integrate Documentum(EMC Product) with ECC . It means what are the configuration steps at ECC side to connect it with Documentum using Archivelink.

As per my understanding the following things are required

1) Archivelink configuration at ECC side

2) installation and configuration of CSSAP + ASSAP at Documentum side

I know some of the configuration steps required at ECC like OAC0 , OAC2 , OAC3 etc.

So my queries are

a) Do we have to use both CSSAP and ASSAP or anyone of the two will serve the purpose.

b) what all additional configurations required apart from OAC0 , OAC 2 , OAC3

Hi Athol,

I have not asked anyone to provide training material or course details. I have raised the question on the integration aspect and step by step approach means key touchpoints and to validate the configuration understanding which I have.

I am well aware of the rules of the forum .

Will appreciate your input on the integration question.

Thanks & Regards

Here are the embedded answers:

a) Do we have to use both CSSAP and ASSAP or anyone of the two will serve the purpose.

- Depends on what you are trying to do. If you want to link SAP DMS objects to Documentum content then you need CS SAP (most of the time) and AS SAP is for archiveliink scenarios.

b) what all additional configurations required apart from OAC0 , OAC 2 , OAC3

- Depends on what you are trying to do

You need to get an overview of the products first:. Here is a link to my blog which will explain you the products.
