what is the difference between installloc(whole) and equipment (all)

Hi,

first I dismantle one equipment from one functional location using t-code IE02 and i added new fun location, i clicked Install with data transfer then it shows to options installloc(whole) and equipment (all) what difference between them.

Hi,

when you asked system to install with data transfer, system copy the same data existing in new function loaction to Equipment only if you opt options installloc(whole).

But if you opt equipment (all), system will copy the data existing in new functional location to all of Equipments under header equipment ( if installed Equipment have sub equipments).

Hi

The difference is whether you want to over rite the values from the new functional location or whether the equipment field value is to retained
