product substitution when creating Sales Order

Hi,

I have issue in creating Sales Order for materials with material substitution.

1st Issue:

Create Standard SO.

I entered a material on the 1st line item. sample material: 12345

This material have 2 alternative materials as configured in VB13. sample alternative materials: 12345 and 67890.

I input qty 550 CAS.

Hit enter.

The line items displayed are:

10 12345 550 CAS

20 12345 500 CAS

30 67890 50 CAS

But when I input 500, the display are:

10 12345 500 CAS

20 67890 500 CAS

Question: What is the cause of the behavior?

2nd Issue:

Question: Material 54321 has the same config as with 12345 but why are the outputs different?

Hi,

In your case i guess you have stock of 500 qnt and when you are creating sales order for 550 qnt you see the subitems where as when you create sale order for 500 qnt there is no subitem created.

Where to check it?

When I check material 12345 in MMBE it has 19,200 BTL unrestricted stocks, while 67890 and 54321 has no stocks.

In VB13 double click the the line item you will find the MRP indicator which is creating subitem during shortage.

"MRP indicator for alternative material in product selection

Material requirements planning (MRP) indicator for automatic product selection.

Use

The MRP indicator displays the alternative material for which a subitem can be created in case a requirement can't be met. Material requirements planning uses the subitem to determine the requirement shortage.

Note:

Only one alternative material can be indicated as relevant for materials planning."
