cant connect to MDM repository

hi,

out of a sudden, i am not able to connect to mdm repository via console.

the error message i have when try to logon to any repository from console :

repository connect fail

invalid object state..

restart whole instances of sapmmc doesnt help.

jstart.exe from mmc is always shown yellow. Does this cause the issue?

anyone faced this before?

solved.. it was authorization issue..

Just to add... if you are not able to connect to the repository it could be related to network issues also,

just make sure that your MDM connection to database is working fine............. also check to see if you can log on to other repositories.

you need to start both your Database server first then Start your MD server. also verify all the required unique parameter in your .ini file.

try load repository again.

Hi Deepak,

Thanks for the info. I would like to add.

Start in below order

1. Oracle Listerner (if oracle db)

2. Start DB

3. start the MD

even through you see all the process is running it doesn't its working.You have to start in the order to be able to connect using the MDM console.

i suppose, you have problem with connection from mdm server to database.

Check it, maybe, password your database user is expired.

Hi Shanti,

You just mentioned that MMC Color is Yellow that means it is not fully started it should be green?

Can you again start the serives of MDM Services ? and then again try to see you have no problem in connecting to your database ?

once you have checked this then try connecting to your repository

Hi Shanti

Verify if you don't have some parameters with wrong configuration in your MDS.ini.

If you have more than one service (MDS, MDIS, MDSS, etc) on the same server, try to load MDS only.

Check if other system don't use the same port of the MDM.
