Hi Experts,
I have to unlock/reset password for SAP* at client 000, as we have to update support packages.
But in SAP system I have used a parameter -
login/password_max_idle_productive , value 15 days.
This parameter locks users which have not logged in since last 15 days (as I have defined).
Production client is 800.
Details of our SAP servers are:
OS - Windows 2003 server
DB - MS SQL server 2005
SAP - ECC 6.0
Please advice.
Thanks in advance.

If you don't have your own administrator userID in client 000, then you can probably log in as DDIC if the SAP* account is locked. But, as was mentioned, it is best to then create your own user, other than SAP* or DDIC, with which to apply support packs.

Hi,
What have you tried already?
You should be using your own ID in 000 so use that to unlock SAP* if you absolutely need it. SAP* shouldn't be unlocked in 000 anyway so the parameter should have no significance.
If you don't have your own ID then use the search on the forum for unlocking SAP* there are lots of answers which will help you choose the most appropriate method for your situation.

Hi!
I am not sure, but i guess the only possibility is to create a Z*program in another client and use BAPI BAPI_USER_UNLOCK - and call client 000.
I hope this helps.
have fun

No, it deletes the password by setting USR02-CODVN to 'X' and the hashes to 0000000000....
So logon via a non-password based authentication method, such as trusted RFC using another user (DDIC and SAP* are not allowed for this).
Anyway, you should then use DDIC for this and not SAPstar.

select the parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar make it 0... and enter with SAP* as id and pass as password.

If the OP can't remember the SAP* password then that isn't going to work. Are you going to list the other steps they need to do for this to work?

Hello,
I have got a solution by myself that If deativate the parameter login/password_max_idle_productive & set login/no_automatic_user_sapstar to 0.
I can login with SAP* on client 000.
Thanks to all for your valuable responses.

HI,
Execute Tcode RZ10,
Select Instance profile and check extended maintenance check box,
Set the parameter as login/no_automatic_user_sapstar = 1,
Restart the sap system and login through sap* with pass as password.
Note: if the parameter dose not exists we should create by selecting parameter button.
And also lock the user sap* by setting login/no_automatic_user_sapstar = 0, after completion of work.
