Hi All,
We would like to do a centralization scnrio for material master, and want to implement thru portals.
can you pls share some thoughts on what exactly is needed to maintain MDM thru portals(installations, pre-reqs etc).
I am currently on MDM7.1SP02.I am aware of the portal content shipped by SAP, how will I use this? is it standalone? or any pre requisites?
pls let me know.........

go to
http://service.sap.com/swdc --> Support packages and patches --> Entry by application group --> SAP NetWeaver --> SAP MDM --> SAP MDM 7.1

Deepak,
I do understand that the links you provide is for the development for portal etc........... But
I would like to know before any development , what all things need to be in place ?
like for my current version SP02, is their a compatable version of EP that has to be installed ?, any config?
how portal content is utilised from portals? etc..
or any thoughts on how you have done this in any of ur experiences.
rgds,

if you are with SAP MDM 7.1 Sp 02 or higher . choose EP 7.0 Ehp 02.
also check with product availability matrix https://websmp108.sap-ag.de/PAM (SMP login required)
deploy business packages and also make trusted connection check note 1431763
The general implementation steps are:
1. Configuring a System Object
2. Defining the System Alias
3. Connecting to the MDM Repository using the SSOlike feature
4. Checking connection to the MDMserver and repository
moreover the various feature which needs to consider can be leverage from below link
