Hello,
When creating a travel request, we need to enter an alternative cost center for entire trip(different from basic one assigned to the employee) :
- Is it possible to default it with the cost center mentionned in IT0017?
- Is it possible to make it mandatory?
- Where SAP save this information? I didn't found it in the workflow container

How do you create travel request? through ECC or ESS??
At any case, the user will have the option of changing the default cost center assigned from the IT 0017 though button "Enter Cost Assignment". Where the user can assign it to either different cost center or WBS elements or Order etc.,.
This is a mandatory field. As by default the system brings in the cost center from IT 0017, you are not aware that this field is a mandatory field.
SAP stores in table FTPT_REQ_ACCOUNT.

For second point...
You can make it mandatory....
T- code : PR71
Double click on Cost Center with your user group (if applicable)
it and set Required entry field as 1.
T- code : PR72
Double click on Cost Center with your user group (if applicable)
it and set Required entry field as 1.
T- code : PR73
Double click on Cost Center with your user group (if applicable)
it and set Required entry field as 1.
