Solution Manager 7.0 homogeneous systemcopy

Hi,

We are planning to do a homogeneous system copy for our Solution Manager 7.0

Just to migrate to a new server.

The platform is = HPUX 11.23 --> 11.31

DB =Oracle 10.2.0.2.0 (remain)

In the system copy guide even if we use the backup/restore method. We will have to run sapinst to "Export" at the source system. This will generate a media called "Migration Export CD" that is asked during the sapinst at the target system.

Has anyone by pass the export steps before? straight away install the executables at the target system via sapinst.

And then shutdown the Oracle DB and backup/restore the Oracle DB data to the target system?

We normally can do that with R/3 system or ECC6. But not sure about SOLMAN system.

Thanks.

Best Regards,

CK chai

Hi,

You should not by pass those step because the reason for export is to export Java part as most of the configuration for Java lies in the file system only, so you have to export this for successful system copy. If you skip those step then that SAP does not support this method.

Thanks
