EAN Check Digit

Good morning,

I'm configuring the EAN in SAP, and needed to know if SAP is able to

well as validating the check digit EAN, correct check digit to the right.

Hi Antonio,

Yes..Check digit for EAN algorithm is available in SAP which is defined for each of the EAN categories used.

Please check the below path

Logistics General ->Material Master ->Settings for Key Fields->Internal Article Numbers(EANs)->Define Attributes for EANs/UPCs ->

Here,You will find the check digit Algorithm when you see the details of any of the EAN categories.

But not exists any option to generate the correct EAN.

Needed was to enter an EAN wrong the system automatically generates the check digit correct. This is possible

Hi Antonio,

You have to write a program logic in such a way that for those identified EAN categories when they are keyed in,system has to propose a check digit and i dont think any standard logic is available to cater to this requirement.
