How to create a new project documentation type

Hi Experts

I want to create my own project documentation type (solar_project_admin -> Project standards ->documentation type). Could you please tell me how I can create this

Thanks for your reply, I have created the documentation type. Now how I can assingn to this the template.

If I open some of the documentation type i am getting a template, but the newly created one is coming as a empty word document.

Can you please tell me how i can assign this to the template

Hi Venkat,

prepare your template, e.g. a WORD-File.

Start solar_project_admin for a project,

go to "Project Standards" -> "Document Types"

Choose button "Proj.Template" (Create/Change Doc.Types)

You told me that you created a new document type; it should be listed under "Complete Drictory of Document types".

Mark the line for this document and press button "Document Template" -> import.

Select the Word-template you created before. This template will be assigned to the document type.

As per your advice, I have imported the template

But when i checked the document in solar02, It's opening the a blank word document.

Any idea ...

after the import of your template:

- Did you save the changes?

- Have you assigned the document type to your project?

Hi Venkat,

start transaction solar_project_admin for a project.

Go to "Project Standards" -> "Document Types"

Choose button "Proj.Template" (Create/Change Doc.Types)

Then you should be able to insert new rows for document types.

After creating a new document type it must be assigned to the "Project Doc.Types".

Hi Venkat,

To create a new project documentation type simply follow these steps:

Run transaction SPRO_ADMIN

Select project and change

Select documentation types tab

Select project template button

Add documentation type.

Please notice that this documentation types names have to begin with 'Z' or 'Y'.
