Print Files with text

HI Gurus

Please share your suggestions on the below requirement

We have defined 3 characteristics for a document type. When user prints a original file, these 3 characteristic values needs to be displayed.

For example

Value of Characteristic-1 = ELE

Value of Characteristic-2 = PAN

Value of Characteristic-2 = WIR

If user prints the document then the text ELE-PAN-WIR to be displayed in the original.

Raja

Suspect if this can be achieved in the standard behavior.

As a worst case workaround, you may invoke the 'Markup and Redlining' feature in the DIR,add your text/comments in the 'Stamp' utility, save it to 'Favorites',include it in the layer for the original and then print the original using the relevant layer that has captured your comments. The print output will display your comments alongwith the original details.

Hi Pradeeep

Thanks for your reply. Can we bring the characteristic values to a stamp. I couldn't find the option to insert the characteristic values in the stamp.

No.Not possible in the standard setup.See if your ABAPer can help you in provisioning an 'Import' tab/utility which will import the set characteristic values into your stamp utility.

Thanks to all.

Pradeep, I will check with ABAPer.

Can we display the DIR information (such as Document Type, Document number, Docpart & Version) in the hardcopy when the user prints the document. Our client wants to find the particular DIR in SAP if anyone has the hardcopy. Otherwise the SAP user has to check all the documents with same document number. If we go with the stamp function then the user has to manually add the stamp whenever he prints the documents. But our the client is not willing to add the stamp for each and every document as it is a manual work. Is there any other solution to capture the DIR information automatically in the hardcopy whenever/whatever document is printed.

Thanks in advance

Again not certain if its possible in standard setup.Explore if output management devices like Plossys netdome from SEAL systems could be of any assistance in your case.
