Multiple R/3 Systems

Former Member

We have 4 R/3 Systems. SAP1, SAP2, SAP3,SAP4.

We are going to implement the scenario SAP(IDOC) to Vendors. (Sending PO's to our Vendors)

The IDOC Structure in SAP1 , SAP2 & SAP3 are similar and the Business rules are same in SAP1 and SAP2. For SAP3 the BUSINESS rules are totally different.

The IDOC Structure in SAP4 is different from SAP1 and SAP2,SAP3.

Would some one guide me ,

1) How should I create the SLD Entries. Like creating the Technical System, Business System Etc.

2) How many Message Mappings I need to create for the above scenario

3) In which Software Component should I need to IMPORT the IDOC Structures? SAP APPL?

Any other points that I need to keep in mind to build the above scenario.

Thanks.

Rohini,

We have 4 R/3 Systems. SAP1, SAP2, SAP3,SAP4.

You mean diffeent clients or different R3 systems altogether?

If you mean different R3 systems, you need to create a Technical System for every R3 system and then create Business Systems for each logical system ( Client ) to which you are connecting from XI.

How many Message Mappings I need to create for the above scenario

How many scearnios depends on whether the R3 is going to be the Sender or the Receievr System. if it is the Receievr System, then you can use Conditional Receievr Determaintion , Conditional Interface Determiantion , etc.

If the R3 is the Sender Business System, you need a Config Scenario for each of the Interfaces.

Exact approach needs more detailed info.

Bhavesh thanks.

I am talking about 4 DIFFERENT R/3 systems(NOT the Clients in an R/3 system)

In this case all our 4 R/3 systems are Senders. We are sending PO's to our Vendors.(Please read my initial post and I have mentioned all these points).

Thanks.

/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/10/registering-a-new-technical-system-in-sld--abap-based

(business systems = clients on r3)

>>>>2) How many Message Mappings I need to create for the above scenario

Thanks Michal.

Have you heard of the word Canonical Mapping in xi? What does it mean.

hi,

>>>>Have you heard of the word Canonical Mapping in xi?

it's not an XI term

if I where to shoot I'd say that

it means "standard mapping" = message mapping in the XI

as canonical means:

"standard" & "generally accepted" from:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canonical

is this possible in your meaning?

hi,

>>>>So do you want to say, if I use CIDX or PIDX standards for my message mapping thats what you want to call us Canonical Mapping?

no

all I want to suggest is that if anyone uses the

term "Canonical Mapping" with the XI

I'd think that he/she thinks about message mapping

that's all

but I'd just ask that person if that's what

he/she understands as this has nothing to do with the XI

terminology
