Remote DB access through DB link

Dear All,

we have two system landscapes in different locations. So that people want to connect our Database via DB link. I find DB link is not recommended by SAP. Please advise me here can I create DB link. If I created DB link...i s there any concerns.

Our system is : SAP R3: 640

Oracle : 10G

OS : unix.

Please assist here.

You can find information regards to DB Links and usage with SAP in SAP Note : 25383

SAP won't provide detailed info regards to DB links if it is not supported.

You can go through that SAP Note for detailed information.

Thanks for your support. I have reolved my issue by using RFC insted of DB link.
