Hi,

I am running a statistical forecast calculation job and it shows in the message log

:NOT POSSIBLE TO CARRY OUT FORECAST - NO PLANNABLE CHARACERISTICS AND NO HISTORICAL DATA" but on running in foreground, it did not give any message and was executed successfully. Can anyone kindly reason this out...

Check the selection id used if its valid or not.

3 possibilities here:-

1. Selection Profile being used in the background job does not contain any valid CVCs. Have the CVCs been created as a separate step before you have run the Stat Fcst?

2. There is insufficient history data in the PB to run the Fcst. Navigate into the PB at the level at which you are carrying out fcsting and check if data exists in the history key-figure.

3. Also have you set the aggregation level correctly while defining the fcsting job in MC8E?

My guess is that CVC's are not getting selected in background. Take a look at reccomendations for selctions in OSS notes 374681 and 546079.
