Hello!

As of last week the new SPS 26 for EHP1 SAP Solution Manager is available.

Contains this SPS new functions comparing with SPS25?

If yes what are this new functions?

Allthough the answers are very intersted I mean the new functions with SPS 26 not the new version of SAP Solution Manager 7.1.

the information from me is for SP26, not for Solution Manager 7.1

In 7.1 we have way more changes to expect, the biggest one will be that it will utilize the CRM Web UI as user interface.

If you follow the one link, you will realise it is SP26.

Hello,

I was involved in some testing of SP26 and also 7.1.

Unfortunately I do not have a list, but the new funtionality that does exist in SP26 has been downported from version 7.1

Release Notes are only available for Releases and not SP levels....so you can get an idea of some of the functionality here

For additional information on SAP Solution Manager 7.1, see the release notes in SAP Library on SAP Help Portal at http://help.sap.com -> SAP Solution Manager -> Release SAP Solution Manager 7.1 -> Changes and New Features in SAP Solution Manager 7.1.

Of course this is for 7.1, and not all the functionality of 7.1 is in SP26, however any new functionality in SP26 has been downported from 7.1. So you can get some idea what to look for in SP26 by reviewing what is new in 7.1.

that area is not available for non SAP employees ... we cannot see Solution Manager 7.1 on there

To my knowledge new functionality are:

Self Diagnosis Enhanced:

You can monitor the status of the Service Delivery Readiness function and perform corrective actions, if any problem exists. You can transfer the content to SAP for support.

Business Process and Interface Monitoring :

New: Dashboard

As end user (e.g. plant manager or application support expert), you can graphically display and monitor analytic key figures, e.g. throughput or backlog, in panels. This gives you an overview of the status of business processes, and identifies current operational problems.

Alert Inbox (Changed):

You can analyze the cause of the alert, and, for example, send a support message, or confirm that the alert has been handled.

When you select an alert, the system displays tabs with detail information:

  • Alert list

  • Monitoring activities

  • Thresholds

  • Configuration

  • Schedule information

  • Messages

  • Service Desk

Job control (New):

You can pass the control over job scheduling in managed systems, to SAP Solution Manager. Each job in the managed system is redirected to a guided procedure which ensures that a job request is made, to schedule or change the job.

Central Job Scheduling (CPS) (Changed)

Job scheduling with SAP CPS by Redwood (previously an enhancement) is now in the standard. You can change jobs for which you use SAP CPS by Redwood, in the Job Management work center.

BW Health Check reporting (New):

You can perform the following, and other, BW reports, to monitor job processing key figures (with and without steps):

  • Daily view of steps

  • Weekly view of steps (aggregated)

  • Monthly view of steps (aggregated)

  • Weekly view of business process management

  • Weekly view of business process management (job chains in SAP NetWeaver BW)

Change Request Management and Change Management

System Recommendations (New):

System recommendations is an SAP Solution Manager function in the Change Management work center. System recommendations finds and displays SAP Notes for a technical system, and performs their actions. You can manage Security Notes, Performance Notes, Legal Change Notes, Correction Notes, and HotNews, which has been integrated into system recommendations.
