How can I find out if SAP supports Windows 2008 R2 SP1?

We have ECC6 enh4 running on Win2008R2 servers, our admin would like to apply SP1 to these. I'm trying to find documentation to verify SAP Supports SP1. So far I've come up empty.

Thanks

Hello Laurie,

The up to date kernels support Windows 2008R2

SAP supports the following 64-bit (x64, IA64) Windows Server 2008 R2 editions:

Standard edition, Enterprise edition, Datacenter edition, and for Itanium-Based Systems edition

Windows Server 2008 R2 Server Core is not supported by SAP.

See url

Hope it's work for you,

Ignacio.

Thanks for your responses. We are currently on 2008 R2, what I'm most interested in in SP1 and does SAP support it. In PAM, it only specifies 2008 R2, but not any support packs.

Thanks

Laurie

Dears

please, where is the post about  SAP on Microsoft Windows ?

I need to clarify if Win 2008 R2 Datacenter is supported for Sap ERP 60 on Ms-SQL2005 .

The PAM just indicates as supported the version Win 2008 R2, whitout to specify if Datacenter or not.

For your question refer to the installation guide

Installing Systems Based on NW 7.0/7.0 EHPs-SW Prov. Mgr.1.0

for MS SQL Server / Windows / ABAP (size 10 MB). Short answer: yes it is.

Thanks.

Just another question on this topic:

The PAM says :

"only product based on Sap Netw 70 SPS 14 and higher are supported on Win 2008 /R2"

I would to clarify what exactly means this sentence.

My Sap ERP 60 has Sap Basis 700 lev 11, and Sap_APPL 60 lev 9.

I need to clarify if before to migrate to Win 2008 R2 It's enough to apply the Sap_Basis and Sap Abap 70 up to lev 14 or whatever.

bye

That sentence means that SAP_BASIS has to be at least SP14. You must also consider the requirements for SQL Server and SAP Kernel while keeping in mind that you are on a SAP release that is based on NetWeaver 7.0.

You should open a new discussion thread if you have more concerns, I'm sure Laurie doesn't want her discussion thread to be hijacked like this.
