E2E Trace: Trace can't be enabled

Former Member

hello everyone

I'm trying to enable the E2E trace at the End to End Analysis > Trace Analysis, when I go to the option Trace Enabling and try to enable the trace the message "Remote Call Failed:Trace status could not be checked for system" and a red circle appear at the side of the name of the system. This system is only Java.

Does anybody knows what could be this error?

Regards

Hi Marcelo,

Check note 1274287, especially section "Limitations for E2E Trace" and make sure that you have deployed the right SDAs in the managed system.

-

Limitations for E2E Trace:

  • Monitored System based on WAS 6.20

ABAP SQL trace and ABAP trace are written but cannot be collected.

    • Monitored J2EE engine NW04

For J2EE engine < SP 20 attached SDAs in J2EE_640.ZIP have to be

deployed (requires restart of Java Stack)

For J2EE engine = SP 20, No SDA deployment.

For J2EE engine = SP 21 attached SDAs in J2EE_640_SP21.ZIP have to be

deployed (requires restart of Java Stack)

    • Monitored J2EE engine NW2004s

For J2EE engine < SPS 14 attached SDAs in J2EE_700-upTo_SP13.zip have to

be deployed (requires restart of Java Stack).

    • Monitored J2EE engine NW 7.1

For J2EE engine < SP 06 attached SDAs in J2EE_710_upTo_SP5.zip have to

be deployed (requires restart of Java Stack).

This should solve your issue.

Hello Allam

Thanks for your answer. This used to work for this system, but suddenly this error appeared. I checked if something has changed in the system but nothing changed.

Hi Marcelo,

In this case, make sure that the SMD agent for this system is up and running, maybe it is offline.
