Thanks,

it was for this reason I relayed the question to the experts.... I've done extensive SAP supported writings around this. I still cannot understand why one would use these QE72/73 Tx codes over QA32.....

I need to know and really appreciate your help.

Simply stated what is the difdference between these two Tx codes and QA32???

QA32 is a work list - from where you can process all kinds of inspection lots - if you observer, depending on the inspection lot - system will branch to qe01,qe11, qe23 etc - like one for inspection lot with inspection points, one for operations, for physical samples etc. As its easy to manage and no need to remember all the t-codes, usually we encourage them to use work list - qa32 to do for results recording irrespective whether its for physical samples, inspection points etc.

Where as qe71/72/73 - are for tabular form of results recording - in other words the screen will be like a table input where you can enter results for multiple inspection points/operations etc. It works like a direct table update. the disadvantage with this is - all the user exits, enhancements available in other results recording transactions are not available in qe71/72/73 etc.

I hope its clear for you on whats the difference. You can use any of the t-codes depending on your requirements. usually we encourage users to use tabualr form of results recording transactions if results has to be entered for large number of inspection points etc.

Thanks,

Ram

both the t_codes are for result recording

in qe72

inspection lot will appear, when u execute all char. present in inspection plan (it can be a mic or normal char) will be displayed and u can record results for that.

in qe73

here u have u give MIC number in input screen, so that inspection lots having that mic in there inspection plan will only appear.

u can record result for that mic only.

for example

in a inspection lot of materialABC, 2 chars are there mic1 and mic2

in qe72,INPUT -ABC MATERIAL, u can record result for both chars

but in qe73 input - mic1

record result for that

again give input as mic2 and then record result
