Hi,
How can i restrict Employee type field "consultant" with valid from and valid to, maximum 6 months.

This is not possible, a workaround could be a seprate set of roles for consultants whose validity cant be for more than 6 months.

One way can be to change the validity period to 6 months during the time request approval...if you have security as your last stage of approvals.
I can restrict through LDAP additional fields-> valid to date in LDAP mapping. But, i don't know LDAP fields for it. We have SUN one LDAP Directory.Please help.
You'd have to talk to your LDAP people, but they'd have to maintain the field for external employees, then!
Why not create a different initiator for that employee type and make sure the approver takes care of that?
