You're aware that this is not really a supported way of doing system copies? Your oraIventory is no more reflecting the actual state if you restored this from another SID so patches can't be applied properly.

Also check LD_LIBRARY_PATH.

Hi,

Please check ORACLE folder under the system profile folder. Please edit the file and change the host name and required details.

/usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profile/oracle/...

Check the files ...sqlnet.ora, tnsnames etc...

Thanks and Regards,

Jibin.

Hi Marks,

I have restored the file system of our server which is having ECC development and ECC quality.

I have just restored the file system backup of ECC development only.

Hi Mark,

The parameters ORACLE_HOME and PATH are not set. I have checked it with #echo $ and from SQL command show parameter its not displaying any value.

Same I have checkd on our running development server there is also no value for these parameters but system is running.

Hi,

so have you actually switched user to ora<sid> and started the listener ??

I would also take note to Markus's remarks about patching, etc..when ou eventually get this going..

Two checks that i would do is if my listener doesn't startup after a system copy.

1. Check the environment variables

2. Check the listener.ora , make sure new hostname , port has been correctly configured

Also as you mentioned you have two systems on the same server , i hope you have followed the procedure and configured the listener accordingly.

Hi Neel,

I have changed the host name in file lisner.ora and tnsname.ora.

But still problem is same.
