Hi Syed,

Its not possible to give step by step procedure here, its huge activity.

I will try to guide you as much possible.

1. There are few checks you need to carry out in Solution Manager and

managed systems. We followed the note 1274287 (for our SP level). That note is no more available.

You find suitable note for your SP level.

Search sonte as "End-to-End Diagnostics 7.0".

Main configuration are:

a. Prerequisites in managing system (solution manager)

b. Prerequisites in satellite system(s)

c. Initial configuration

d. Basic Configuration

e. Managed System Configuration u2013 Satellite Systems

2. We set two parameters in RZ10 (solution manager):

icm/host_name_full =

icm/conn_timeout (msec.) =

Then restart java engine.

3. In managed system: we set these parameters:

icm/HTTP/logging_0*, LOGFILE=, LOGFORMAT=, MAXSIZEKB=, SWITCHTF=, FILEWRAP=

(This parameter is described:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/56/2e453cabf4ef6fe10000000a114084/content.htm)

icm/host_name_full =

jstartup/recorder

4. Guided procedure is there is tcode: solman_setup in solution manager.

You have to do:

u2022 Initial Configuration

u2022 Basic Configuration

u2022 Managed System Configuration

5. The central correction note 1172948 needs to be downloaded and implemented during

Basic configuration.

6. Wily Introscope needs to be installed before the above note is implemented.

For Wily Introscope EM, the component is available in marketplace.

IntroScope agent needs to be installed across both solution manager and the managed java stack systems

by SDM.

7. As part of managed system configuration, you need to install and configure SMD Agent.

Please refer to SAP note 1170855 before installing SMD agent. Components needs to be

downloaded are already mentioned in that note. SMD Agent needs to installed on all hosts

of a system if the system has more than one host.

Now you need to study and implement. All the best.

Sujit

Sujit,

Thanks a lot. I was going over on the links what you have provided. During configuration it talks about creating LOGICAL COMPONENT & SOLUTION. What is the difference between these two and when and why do we create each of them. Sorry I am little new to Solution Manager.

Thanks.
