what is the purpose of _SERVERDB_FOR_SAP parameter?

Hi,

I'm checking some parameters and a MaxDB server the SERVERDBFOR_SAP parameter iis set to YES, but the system is neither used as liveCache nor by R/3, what changes occurs in my database if I set this to NO? that is only matter of license or something just tunned and only required by SAP systems?

Hi Clovis,

afaik this parameter just switches some handling of SQL commands so that it complies better with the database interface layer of Netweaver systems.

(e.g. in newer versions the parameter was renamed to UseExtendedOracleSQLMode - so it's really just about the Oracle SQL mode handling).

You shouldn't see any difference in your application, regardless how you set it.
