Java Dev Studio - perspectives destroyed?

hi folks,

i have a big problem as my java ide cannot load web dynpro perspectives and so, when starting i get an error like "unable to recreate perspectives"

does anyone has an idea how to solve that problem

There is soemthing wrong with your installations. You can either copy all the plugins from a collegue(which is faster) or re-install the IDE.

Hi Arun,

thanks for your hint, but after clicking a bit around it seems that the opening of the editor does not work none of the perspectives work.

Where normally i see the editor i see just empty windows???? maybe you know any hint to fix this without reinstalling.

Hi,

Try this: Window->prefrences->workbench->workspace->give new workspace location->apply->ok->close and open NWDS again you will get all perspective

hi suresh,

oh also this does not work when i open the preferences an empty window just with den ok and restore button appears on screen, clicking on restore does nothing. ;-((

Hi

Try this

1.Copy all project to local Directory from work space

2. delete the .metadata folder in work space.

3. copy the project to work space.

4. open the Studio now

Hi Oliver,

The better option is to re-install ur NWDS so that u might not face this issue in future.
