Hello Friends
We have 2 ECC servers that we are using, one for development and another for doing demo to customers. Since we have considerable amount of work done on both servers, we want to start doing a regular backups. We use MSSQL database that resides on the same systems. I want to know what all should be backed up in case there is a crash and we need to do a disaster recorvery.
To my understanding,
We have to back up the MSSQL Database. Apart from that '/usr' directory. Since the SID of one of the systems is DEM, there are 4 directories DEMDATA1, DEMDATA2, DEMDATA3 and DEMLOG1. Another directory that I can think of is SAPINST_INSTDIR under programfiles directory.
Is it enough to back up the above mentioned database and directories. In case of a system crash, Can I just copy the above said directories along with MSSQL database to get back the server running?
Also, is there a software that can backup SAP server? I checked with EMC (Legato Networker) but was told that they support only oracle database and not MSSQL.
Any feedback on this will be highly appreciated.
Thanks
Ram
